Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 pa
Hours: 8:30 – 5:30 Monday to Thursday, 8:30 – 16:00 Friday
Flexibility: Hybrid option available, up to 2 days
Holidays: 23 days plus statutory pro rata

As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the finance function, working directly with the Managing Director to drive the company’s financial strategy. You’ll be responsible for everything from monthly management accounts to cash flow management, ensuring that the company’s finances are not just in order, but optimized for growth.

As Finance Controller you will have responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Own the monthly management accounts pack, including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and reconciliations and presentation of Board Pack;
  • Sales and Margin Analysis: Deliver divisional sales and margin analysis, dashboard reporting, and KPI tracking;
  • Cash Flow Management: Ensure robust day-to-day cash flow management;
  • Costing Analysis: Develop and maintain costing information, analyse manufacturing costs, and implement variance analysis systems;
  • ERP Leadership: Lead as the business ‘Super-User’ of the new ERP system, ensuring optimal use across all departments;
  • Continuous Improvement: Challenge and improve existing processes, standardize procedures, and ensure high-quality financial controls;
  • External Liaison: Act as the point of contact for external accountants, tax authorities, suppliers, and the bank.
  • Adhoc Projects: Involved in added-value projects as required by the Managing Director.

You will be:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACMA, ACCA or ACA) or QBE with experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong operational exposure with a focus on costing, stock management, and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in accounting software, Excel, and Word, with excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • A team player with leadership qualities, ready to take ownership of new projects and drive continuous improvement.
